John Landon initiated his artistic activity at a very young age. Artist by
descent, Landon traveled throughout the United States and Canada, painting and
sketching. In 1983, he settled on the Central Coast of California, where he
developed his style, 'California Expressionism'. Landon enjoys living in Shell
Beach, close to the ocean and the scenes that he brings to life.
He captures the coastal life with passion as he exuberantly fills the canvas with rhythmic
brush strokes, giving sensuous quality to his paintings.
Though they are painted in semi-abstract style, the characters, that people a Landon
composition, are always real. Regular people who appreciate life's REAL treasures - a
romantic moment, a fleeting glance from a loved one, a solitary walk on the beach.
His work is simple, romantic and it always presents a positive point of view.
Landon has been selling his paintings to enthusiastic collectors for nearly thirty
years. His works are included in many notable private and corporate collections, and
are shown in galleries throughout America.
